No love from Bolivia for pending US/Colombian base deal

LA PAZ, BOLIVIA: President Evo Morales listened to President Uribe late Tuesday night about the pending military agreement with the United States. However, Morales says his country doesn´t like the idea of more US Forces so close. Morales kicked the DEA out of his country earlier this year. He also supports Venezuela´s stand against the issue. Meanwhile, President Alan Garcia of Peru met with Colombia's President for more than an hour Tuesday. Peru supports Colombia and also enjoys a strong military cooperation with the United States. President Uribe is visiting 7 UNASUR nations this week to explain how the deal will work and calm concerns the deal could threaten regional security. Wednesday, the President visits Chile and Brasil.
