COLOMBIA'S TOP STORIES:
A United Nations Human Rights Investigator has issued his preliminary report on the False Positives Scandal. He says the military killlings of civilians were widespread and systematic, not just the work of a few "bad apples" in the Colombian Army. The United Nations says the Uribe Government had no knowledge of the practice. There are more than 1800 cases under investigation and more than 1000 military officers allegedly linked to the scandal.

The south of Barranquilla is getting 30 new traffic lights. It's all part of a plan to improve traffic flow in the city on the north coast.
A new visitors center has opened in the Parque de los Nevados. Other facilities for tourists who vish to visit Colombia's volacano chain are also being improved.
RCN's Brian Andrews and Monica Fonseca have these stories and a look at the National Weather forecast in Today's edition.

This case is slowly becoming a monster. Unfortunately this could place an ugly spotlight on Colombia. The rest of the world will not accept this kind of behavior. I only hope that the Colombian Army does the right thing and prosecute those involved no matter how high they may sit. If this story becomes massive it will only fuel the FARC and other left-wing communist terrorist organizations.
BTW, Monica speaks English very well and is extremely attractive. Brian sure is creating something special at RCN in English!
